TOPIC: PROOF OF HIS RESURRECTION – Part 2

TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 15:12-22

KEY VERSE: “Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead” (1 CORINTHIANS 15:12)?

MESSAGE:

Some people erroneously believe that there is no life after death, hence they live as they, please. But hear Robert Lowry:

“Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes;
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever with His saints to reign.”

Christ’s Resurrection is not a fable but a verified fact, supported by actual eyewitnesses. Paul in our passage showed the futility of such a position, for if Christ has not risen, then our preaching and faith in Him are worthless.

The denial of life after physical death slanders the personality of God. Christ’s death and resurrection prove that bodily resurrection is possible. Jesus’ resurrection is a model of our own resurrection. With salvation and baptism, believers share in His death, burial, and resurrection, making possible the resurrection of Christians in a glorified body for a glorious eternity with our Lord. Death came through the first Adam, and Christ, the last Adam, brought life to man through his death and resurrection. As He resurrected, so shall we who die in Him.

QUOTE: Christ, the last Adam, brought life

CHALLENGE: What is your hope of resurrection?

PRAYER FOR TODAY: May I live again through Christ our Lord. Amen

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
