TEXT: PROVERBS 23:23-26

23 Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

24 The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him.

25 Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice.

26 My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.

Key Verse: “Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding” (Proverbs 23:23).

MESSAGE:

Truth means the quality of being true, genuine, actual, accurate and real. The only thing that has all these characteristics is the word of God – the Bible. It is the foundation and pillar of our Christian faith.

When architects are set to design a house, they pay particular attention to the pillars, because when the pillars are displaced, the whole structure is gone.

The basic Christian experiences, namely salvation, sanctification, Holy Ghost baptism and all the doctrines and teachings of the Bible, is the Truth. This basic Truth must be bought and never sold, no matter what comes your way.

You must not sell your salvation for worldly gains, you must not exchange your sanctification for mere good works, or your Holy Ghost baptism for falsehood. Do not sell the Bible doctrines and other teachings for modern day belief of “It doesn’t matter”.

The Truth is the only thing that will save us and usher us into eternal life with Christ at the end of our journey here on earth. Therefore, do all you can to buy the truth and never let go of it whatever comes your way.

Prayer: Dear Father, help me to hold on to the truth till the end.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
