DCLM HIGHER EVERYDAY 9 April 2022 — Children in endless chats
DCLM Higher Everyday 9 April 2022 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Children in endless chats
TOPIC: CHILDREN IN ENDLESS CHATS
TEXT: PROVERBS 10:18-21
18 He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.
19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
20 The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.
21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.
MEMORY VERSE: “In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise” (PROVERBS 10:19).

Someone in endless chat is a chatterbox, who tends to talk a lot and gossip with relish about other people and their lives, usually with unkind and malicious words.
Our memory verse warns, “In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise” (Proverbs 10:19). Are you a chatterbox? Watch, sin is lurking around the corner.
Dear friend, be wise and refrain your lips from endless chats. William Shakespeare said, “Men of few words are the best men”. Be a youth of few words. Endless chats will lead you into trouble with family members, fellow students, colleagues, roommates among other associates. Moreover, you will sin against God, incur His wrath and miss heaven except you repent.
Only Christ in the heart can control your tongue. Surrender your life to Christ. He will transform your life and deliver you from endless chats.
QUOTE: Be a youth of few words.
CHALLENGE: Control your lips.
PRAYER: Transform my life, Lord, and deliver me from endless chats.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
