DCLM Higher Everyday 14 January 2022 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi —Christ’s Compensation

TOPIC: CHRIST’S COMPENSATION

TEXT: MARK 10:27-31

27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

28 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.

29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s,

30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

31 But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.

MEMORY VERSE: “But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life” (MARK 10:30).

MESSAGE:

Many youths today are largely aloof of Christ’s call to service in His kingdom. Like Peter, they want to know their immediate benefits and gratifications, and as such, fail to know that God does not call anyone to serve Him in vain. He has adequate compensation plans for all who answer the call to salvation and service. Christ’s compensation plan is greatly sufficient for this life and in eternity. He owes no man! He pays those who labour for Him in evangelizing the world and leading souls to the kingdom of God.

Remember the Lord in your youth and be fervent for Him. From now on, ensure you are born again and become a worker for God in the school fellowship thereafter.

QUOTE: Be fervent for Him.

CHALLENGE: Following Christ is gain.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, help me to serve You with all I have.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
