BIBLE TEXT: PHILIPPIANS 4:6-9
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
KEY VERSE: “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God” (Philippians 4:6).
MESSAGE:
Anxiety is a state or condition of being troubled, worried or anxious. Many people have developed high blood pressure as a result of anxiety. God loves and cares so much for us. He does not want us to be anxious, hence the admonition in Philippians 4:6 which says, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” With this great promise, you must understand that there is nothing to worry about.
There are many things in life that can bring trouble and make one to be anxious. These include – failure in academics, sickness, hunger, rejection by peers, and lack of basic needs. All these are what God will readily take care of on your behalf.
This is the reason He has given us the solution to all problems – Jesus Christ. When you repent and become born again, then Jesus becomes your friend and burden-bearer. He will always help you in time of need. All you need to do is to cast off anxiety and commit everything to Him in prayers. Whenever the thought comes to your heart to become worried over anything, take the matter to the Lord in sincere prayer of faith. Jesus cares so much for you, He is waiting for you to hand over all your cares to Him.
PRAYER: Rock of Ages, I hand over unto You all my troubles and fears.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
