DCLM Daily Manna 6 December 2021 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Behold The Righteous Judge

TOPIC: Behold The Righteous Judge (DCLM Daily Manna 6 December 2021)

TEXT: Revelation 19:11-16

11 After that I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse [appeared]! The One Who was riding it is called Faithful (Trustworthy, Loyal, Incorruptible, Steady) and True, and He passes judgment and wages war in righteousness (holiness, justice, and uprightness).

12 His eyes [blaze] like a flame of fire, and on His head are many kingly crowns (diadems); and He has a title (name) inscribed which He alone knows or can understand.

13 He is dressed in a robe dyed by [a]dipping in blood, and the title by which He is called is The Word of God.

14 And the troops of heaven, clothed in fine linen, dazzling and clean, followed Him on white horses.

15 From His mouth goes forth a sharp sword with which He can smite (afflict, strike) the nations; and He will shepherd and control them with a staff (scepter, rod) of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fierceness of the wrath and indignation of God the All-Ruler (the Almighty, the Omnipotent).

16 And on His garment (robe) and on His thigh He has a name (title) inscribed, king of kings and lord of lords.

KEY VERSE: “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.” – (Revelation 19:11)

MESSAGE:

The judiciary is said to be “the last hope of the common man”. The citizens look forward to having justice when they seek a legal remedy for a special set of circumstances. But men are fallible and that is why we have so many miscarriages of justice. It is not so with God who judges in righteousness and truth.

The text reveals a Personality called Faithful and True, who comes down from heaven on a white horse followed by the armies of heaven, all sitting on horses clothed in fine linen, white and clean. On His head are many crowns, His eyes are as a flame of fire and His vesture is dipped in blood. Out of His mouth is a sharp sword with which He would smite the nations, bringing God’s judgment on them. On His vesture is written the name “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS”.

Jesus came the first time as the Lamb of God – lowly, humble and humiliated. But this time, He is coming as the true and righteous Judge. He will come “…from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Thessalonians 1:7,8). For so long, men have despised and snubbed God’s love and invitation. They have followed their evil ways. But God still keeps on beckoning on men to forsake the way of unrighteousness and return to Him. Yet , many have not heeded this call. However, there is still grace today for anyone to repent and escape the fiery wrath of the true and righteous Judge. Today is the day of salvation; tomorrow may be too late.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Don’t wait until it is too late!

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
