DCLM HIGHER EVERYDAY 21 NOVEMBER 2021 — The Messiah’s Message
DCLM Higher Everyday 21 November 2021 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Messiah’s Message
TOPIC: THE MESSIAH’S MESSAGE
TEXT: 1 JOHN 5:14-20
14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.
18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
MEMORY VERSE: “We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not” (1 JOHN 5:18).
MESSAGE:
Malika E. Nura said, “God will protect you if you have Trust in Him.” Protection is any measure taken to guard a thing against damage caused by outside forces. But from the biblical perspective, true protection comes from God after genuine salvation in Christ. Just as people can protect themselves against personal or financial loss by means of insurance, the only protective and security measures for God’s children against eternal destruction are salvation and a steadfast relationship with the Lord. However, apart from staying away from sin in order to escape the snares of the devil and the wrath of God, every believer is encouraged to also be concerned with the protection of others, especially those still entangled in the fleshly things of this life.
You can preach the good news of repentance from sin to unbelievers so as to save them from Satan, the ultimate predator who is lurking around looking for whom to devour. Inasmuch as you cannot afford to miss heaven, also preach and help others to escape hell. Thus, the message of Christ is for you and others around you.
QUOTE: The message of Christ is for you and others.
CHALLENGE: Preach repentance from sin to unbelievers.
PRAYER: O God, give me the grace to lean on You.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
