📜📜EXODUS 20:16📜📜

16 And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.

🔑📖Key Verse: “Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour” (Exodus 20:16).

📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖

Tracy and Bell are classmates and very good friends. Tracy is sharp and quite expressive while Bell is slow to speak. As the bell for break period rang, all the pupils ran out of their classes to play.

Everyone was jumping up and down, and suddenly, a boy fell down and sustained a serious head injury. He was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital. When the head teacher came back, he called the pupils to the field with his whip in his hand and asked, “Who pushed that boy down?”

Out of fear, Tracy quickly shouted “Bell, you pushed him”. The head teacher took Bell to his office and beat her. He also gave her a letter to bring her parents to school the next day. Bell was very sad and cried bitterly because she did not push the boy at all.

False witness is similar to telling lies, but it is more injurious because it leads to injustice and makes people suffer for the sin they did not commit. It can also cause disunity among friends and families.

False witness is a sin. The consequences of sin is grievous, no matter how little you see it. Repent from all sins and bearing of false witness, make your way right with God now that the mercy of God is available.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
