TOPIC: POSSESSING ALL

TEXT: JOSHUA 21:43-45

43 And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.

44 And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand.

45 There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.

Key Verse: “There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass” (Joshua 21:45).

MESSAGE:

Successful performance in life, especially in academics, is always graded as GOOD, BETTER, BEST or EXCELLENT. Many children are generally satisfied with good, few go for better, while only very few go for best or excellent. The level of hard-work required for good is not the same level required for better, and not the same level required for best or excellent.

Excellent performance is not common because many children do not like to go the extra mile. If they score 3 out of 5, they are happy and satisfied, but that is not God’s best for you. God’s best for you is to have the total score and get ALL. God wants you to be the head; to be above only.

In our text, the Israelites got ALL the land that God promised them, they got rest and deliverance from ALL their enemies, they received ALL the good things which the LORD promised them.

You too can have total victory and become first in your class. God has given you an excellent spirit and His promise to help you. However, laziness, idleness and too much play can hinder you from getting to the top.

You must determine to be successful. God is willing to help you if you are willing to work hard and pray.

Prayer: Lord, as I determine to work hard, help me to succeed.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
