DCLM Sincere Milk 9 April 2023 — The waste bin
DCLM Sincere Milk 9 April 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The waste bin
TOPIC: The Waste Bin
Text — Revelation 20:11-15
12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Key Verse: “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:15
Message
As instructed by her mom, Kelly separated all dirty and stained pieces of paper from the clean ones on the bookshelf, trashed them in the waste bin, and got them burnt. Waste bins are containers where we dispose of things we no longer need. Do you know what God’s “waste bin” is? Hellfire is God’s waste bin, meant for those who live in sin and refuse to repent. What qualifies any paper for the waste bin is because it is dirty or stained and not the size of the paper or the number of stains or dirt on it.

Likewise, sin and disobedience to God’s word are what qualifies anyone for God’s punishment. It is not whether the person is an adult or a child, or whether the sinner commits few sins or many sins. If you do not want to end up in hellfire, you must take action now. Be sincerely sorry about the sins you commit, surrender your heart to Jesus, and ask God to forgive you.
After this, you must live daily in obedience to God’s word. Friends of Jesus must remember to warn others who live in sin about the danger of sin. Remind them of the need to repent so that they too can avoid being trashed in God’s waste bin and suffering eternal punishment.

Prayer for today: Dear Father, I give my heart to you, forgive me all my sins and help me to obey you daily in Jesus’ name.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
