DCLM Sincere Milk 17 November 2023 — Depend on God’s guidance

DCLM Sincere Milk  17 November 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Depend on God’s guidance

Topic: Depend on God’s guidance

Text: Psalm 32:8-11

8I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

9Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.

10Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about.

11Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

Key Verse: “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” Psalm 32:8

Message

Everyone in life needs guidance at one time or the other. Young people and especially children need constant guidance in order not to miss their way. Just as you need to be guided when going on the road so that you will not miss your way, you need spiritual guidance. You can be guided spiritually if you put your faith and trust in God. God is our heavenly Father Who loves and cares for us, His children. Total dependance on God will make you receive guidance and direction from Him. God is our Refuge and Help Who never fails. He is our constant and ever-ready Guide.

When God chose Moses to lead the Israelites out of the Egyptian bondage, Moses knew he could not do it on his own. He called upon God and he received the assurance of God’s guidance (presence) to move on. God promised to go with them “And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.” (Exodus 33:14) We still have the assurance today if we follow in the footsteps of Jesus, our ever-present Guide. He will not leave nor forsake you. Trust Him.

Prayer for today: Father, help me to take You at Your word and follow Your guidance for my life.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
