Message
The Dictionary meaning of disguise is to give oneself a different appearance in order to hide one’s identity. Disguise is a practice that is common among sinners, particularly those who have done a criminal act in order to escape punishment. Satan is the creator of disguise. Do you remember what he did in the Garden of Eden? He approached Eve like a snake to deceive her to disobey God and also made her husband to do so. The action of Satan was the beginning of problem for the human race. From the Garden of Eden till today, Satan still disguises to make people go against God. Disguise is dangerous!

In our Bible passage, the righteous King Jehoshaphat had joined the wicked King Ahab to prepare for war against an enemy nation. The deceitful King Ahab then disguised himself like a common soldier but advised his guest to wear his own royal robe. This he did to escape attack, while putting the life of Jehoshaphat in danger. You may ask why would Ahab do this to someone who had come to render help and support to him? This is the nature of sinners. They are deceitful, cunning and dangerous, and would not mind endangering someone’s life to save theirs.
Believers are to be careful in their association with sinners. The word of God warns us against joining them to avoid staining our garment of righteousness. Beware of sinners’ deceit because they are dangerous!

Prayer for today: Lord, please keep me away from any association that can separate me from you.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
