DCLM Sincere Milk 21 February 2023 — Do not doubt God

DCLM Sincere Milk  21 February 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Do not doubt God

TOPIC: DO NOT DOUBT GOD

TEXT: James 1 :5-8

5If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

6But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

7For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

8A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Key Verse: “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed”.
James1:6

MESSAGE
God our heavenly Father loves us and has made many promises concerning what He wants to give us. He knows what we need and He is willing to give them to us. Asking is a responsibility He gives us to prove our faith and dependence on Him. He does not want His children to doubt His ability/ willingness to meet our needs.

A doubter is an unbeliever in the promises of God. Whatever you ask according to His will, He will give you. Are you facing challenges in your academics? Ask for wisdom and understanding. Is your family going through financial tough times? God has promised to supply all your needs. Do you have a sick relative or you are the one sick and needs healing? The Great Physician will visit your body. Are you surrounded by enemies who are threatening to harm you? No evil will befall you; His guardian angels are watching over you and everything about you.

Do not doubt God no matter how tough or hopeless your situation looks- the storm will soon be over.

Prayer: _ Father, increase my faith.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
