TOPIC: EARS THAT HEAR

TEXT: REVELATION 3:11-13

11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Key Verse: “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches” (Revelation 3:13).

MESSAGE:

The ear is one of the five sense organs that God has blessed His creatures with. Everyone has two ears, and they are given for an important purpose, which is to hear conversations from God and those around us.

God’s desire for us is to diligently hear His word and do as He commands. Hearing and not doing is a sin before God. This is why He warns that “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.”

There is a common saying that, “The ear that hears, delivers its owner from death.” This seems to be the emphasis of our key verse. It was the Lord Jesus that gave the warning in this verse.

The children of Israel heard the teachings of the Word of God, but the word they heard never mixed with faith in their heart. They heard but did not obey the word.

Do you find it easy to obey the word of God and have you given your life to Jesus? The Holy Spirit speaks to teach, warn, direct and guide you as you read the Bible. If you hear and obey Him, you will be blessed.

Prayer: Lord God, bless me with ears that hear and the heart that obeys.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
