TOPIC: ELEVATED ELIZABETH

TEXT: LUKE 1:57-60

MEMORY VERSE: “And her neighbours and her cousins heard how the Lord had shewed great mercy upon her; and they rejoiced with her” (LUKE 1:58).

MESSAGE:

A hymn writer says:

“God is still on the throne,
And He will remember His own,
Though trials may press us,
And burdens distress us,
He never will leave us alone;

God is still on the throne,
And He will remember His own,
His promise is true,
He will not forget you,
God is still on the throne.”

After long years of waiting for the fruit of the womb, God granted Elizabeth and her husband a male child in their old age. The Lord lifted her from the valley of despondency to the mountain top of joy and gladness. God changed the story of her life. What looked like a mirage became a miracle. Neighbours rejoiced with her.

God is never too early or late. He will be there for you right on time. Though He tarries, wait for Him. Does it seem that the hope of the fulfilment of your dream is gone? Never mind. Hold on to God’s promise; He will never let you down. It will turn to testimonies. People will come to celebrate with you.

QUOTE: Neighbours rejoiced with her.

CHALLENGE: Believe God for your breakthrough.

PRAYER: Lord, my expectation is in Your promises.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
