Text: Genesis 19:14-17
15And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
16And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.
17And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.

Message
The warning to escape cannot be louder than the one given to Lot and his family. God was merciful to him and his family due to the prayer of Abraham, and sent two angels to warn him, and to carry him and his family out of the destruction that was to come on Sodom and Gomorrah. Despite this, his wife looked back and became a pillar of salt; she was destroyed forever.
The question now to you is, are you like Lot and his family? A songwriter ask:
“Have you counted the cost if your soul should be lost,
Tho’ you gain the whole world for your own?
… Even now it may be that the line you have crossed, Have you counted, have you counted the cost?”
The cost of rejecting Christ is so much that to remain in your sin is not an option. Rejecting Christ is accepting Satan and going to hell fire. It is important and urgent that you accept Christ today to secure your place in heaven eternally. Any sin that will weigh you down and make you look back like Lot’s wife, after the opportunity to escape has come to you, do all you can to take it away by repenting from sin and surrendering your life totally to Jesus; and you will escape.

Prayer for today: Lord, I surrender my life to You, so I can escape Your judgment.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
