Text: John 15:12-17
12This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
16Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
17These things I command you, that ye love one another.

Message
Friends enjoy speaking, listening to and pleasing one another. They will sometimes do things for their friends that they would not do for others. It is great to have good friends. Jesus is the greatest friend anyone could have. He is a friend like no other. He becomes your friend when you repent of your sins and accept Him into your heart as Lord and Saviour. For this relationship to grow, you must desire to speak to Him by praying, reading His word (Bible), meditating on them and listening to Him as He speaks to you.

The evidence that anyone is indeed a friend of Jesus, is a life of obedience to His words and commandment. It is commonly said that, “Show me your friend and I will tell you what kind of person you are.” The life of true friends of Jesus must show the character of Jesus. Are you righteous and holy? Is your heart pure? Ask God today to make your life to be like that of His Son: Jesus Christ. Never be satisfied until others truly see Jesus in you.

Prayer for today: Dear Father, help me to obey you today and let my life be like that of Jesus Christ, my Saviour and friend.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
