BIBLE TEXT: ACTS 1:1-4
1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
MEMORY VERSE: “The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach” (ACTS 1:1).
MESSAGE
A story was told of an old woman who was on the verge of committing suicide, and just about that time, she heard a knock on her door. Reluctantly, she opened and found a young boy with a tract in his hand and an angelic smile on his face, who told her of God’s unconditional love for her and left. Puzzled, she read the tract that night, joy flooded her heart, and the thought of death flew away! The joy of salvation would make the vilest sinner jettison his or her sinful life.
The act of this young boy who came and delivered a soul from death by bringing the person to sweet communion with God is commendable. Literature evangelism is the giving out of Christian publications or materials such as tracts, youth magazines and books to fellow youths, so they can come to know Jesus. Like that young boy, you can also reach out to your friends, families, both far and near, by giving them tracts, sending e-mails, text messages and posting gospel messages on social media platforms to win them to Jesus.
QUOTE: Reach out and save someone today.
CHALLENGE: Prayerfully give out tracts today.
PRAYER: Father, help me to share the gospel through tracts.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
