DCLM Sincere Milk 23 November 2022 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Everlasting worship

TOPIC: EVERLASTING WORSHIP

TEXT: REVELATION 5:11-14

11And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

12Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

13And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

14And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

Key Verse: “And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever” (Revelation 5:14).

MESSAGE:
The English word “worship” is derived from an old English word “worth ship” and explains those actions and attitudes that ascribe honour and worth to the great God of heaven and earth. Worship is God-centred and not human-centred.

Worship expresses faith, love and devotion from our hearts and with our lives to God the Father and to the worthy Lamb who was slain for our sins. Praise is the everlasting duty that friends of Jesus will render to our God and Saviour when we get to heaven.

Our Bible passage shows us a good example of the act of worship. The twenty and four elders representing the multitudes in heaven could not stand on their feet any longer, but fell down to worship God as they beheld His dazzling glory.

Even here on earth you have many reasons to worship and adore the Lord. Firstly, for the beauty of His holiness. Secondly, for His great wisdom and power in creation. Thirdly, for giving Jesus Christ, His Son, to save you from sin and hell. Fourthly, for His daily provision and many other things He has done.

Your whole spirit, soul and body should worship, adore and praise our great God always.

Prayer: I will praise You, O my Saviour, I will praise You forever more.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
