DCLM Sincere Milk 24 May 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Faith Like A Mustard Seed
Topic: Faith Like A Mustard Seed
Bible Reading: Matthew 17:14-20 (KJV)
14And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying,
16And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.
17Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.
18And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
19Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
20And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
KEY VERSE: And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” Matthew 17:20
Message
Imagine a big aircraft that moves in the air, the instrument that controls the movement of the aircraft is a tiny button in the cockpit of the plane. All a pilot needs do is to just press the button and up will go the mighty aircraft. It is the same with cars, luxurious buses and even trains. The size of the controls is so incomparable to the size of the locomotive.
This illustration is to show us that it is the same in the spiritual realm. We only need a tiny spark of faith to move big mountains. Faith in God and His word is all that we need to accomplish great things. To develop your “mustard seed faith,” you must spend quality time to read God’s word, think on the message, believe it and put it into practice.
God, I trust You can do all things. Help me to grow in my faith daily

Luke 17:6
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
