DCLM Sincere Milk  30 January 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiFight Your Fear

Topic: Fight Your Fear

Text: Numbers 21:31-35

31Thus Israel dwelt in the land of the Amorites.

32And Moses sent to spy out Jaazer, and they took the villages thereof, and drove out the Amorites that were there.

33And they turned and went up by the way of Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan went out against them, he, and all his people, to the battle at Edrei.

34And the LORD said unto Moses, Fear him not: for I have delivered him into thy hand, and all his people, and his land; and thou shalt do to him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon.

35So they smote him, and his sons, and all his people, until there was none left him alive: and they possessed his land.

Key Verse: “And the LORD said unto Moses, Fear him not: for I have delivered him into thy hand, and all his people, and his land;” Numbers 21:34a

Message

Fear has torment. It is False Expression Appearing Real. Fear renders the grace of God inactive; it silences and deadens the spiritual gifts of believers and that is why God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Moses was encouraged by God not to fear the king of Bashan and that victory was sure for him as he went to battle with the king. Moses went in that confidence and destroyed Bashan and all his people.

Today, we are not contending with flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Therefore, we are encouraged not to fear them for God is with us and any plan of the devil over your life shall be destroyed. Victory is sure for you. Now read Ephesians 6:10-18 and write out the pieces of weapon you must put on in order to fight the good fight of faith.

Prayer for today: Lord, I trust You and I shall not fear.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
