DCLM Sincere Milk 27 August 2023 — Fire Alarm, Run!

DCLM Sincere Milk  27 August 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Fire Alarm, Run!

Topic: Fire Alarm, Run!

Text: Revelation 18:1-5

1And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

2And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

3For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

4And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

5For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

Key Verse: “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” Revelation 18:4

Message

As part of security and safety measures, organizations are required to install fire alarm system in their premises. They are also required to train their staff on basic safety measures during emergency situation. When the fire alarm sounds, the staff are expected to do the following: (i) Neverignore or assume the alarm is false. (ii) Leave whatever they are doing and immediately exit the building. (iii) Never go back to retrieve personal belongings and do not remain near the hazard zone. (iv) Once outside, move away from the building to allow the fire fighters have quick access. (v) Assemble with other people for head count.

The above physical measures are also applicable to spiritual matters. This world is full of sins and all kinds of evils and God will soon execute His judgment upon the wicked world. No sinner shall be spared, except those that escape by repenting of all sins and accepting Jesus as their personal Saviour and Lord. No one should ignore God’s warning or take it to be false. Sinners should heed God’s call and accept Jesus as Saviour. Once you accept Jesus, remain with Him and never go back to sin. Read and obey the word of God and continue to fellowship with other friends of Jesus as you wait for the coming of Jesus Christ.

Prayer for today: O Lord, please help me to escape the judgment coming upon this sinful world.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
