Topic: Follow Jesus

Text — Mark 10:49-52

49And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.

50And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.

51And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.

52And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

Key Verse: “And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.” Mark 10:52

Message

The man was blind and someone had to lead him every day to where he sat to beg. He looked up to others for everything. In times of danger, he could not run away by himself. Life was difficult and hopeless. He did not believe he would be able to see one day. The day Jesus opened his eyes, the people around were shouting him down and would have stopped him from receiving the most needed miracle of his life.

When Jesus opened his eyes, it would have looked like a dream to him. Then he made a good decision; the decision to follow Jesus in the way. Jesus is the best Person to follow. He can never lead you astray. The request “follow me” is very common in social media platforms. Sadly, many, if not all of these followers’ seekers have very little or nothing good to offer their followers. It pays to follow Jesus and serve Him wherever you go. He will not mislead you. He will take you through the righteous path to heaven.

Prayer for today: I will follow You, Lord because You only can lead me in the right path.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
