KEY VERSE: “And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight” (Colossians 1:21, 22).
TEXT: Colossians 1:21-29 (KJV)
21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church:
25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.
DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:
The 26th of June 1945 was a memorable day in the modern history of our war-weary world. A chapter was carved and signed to achieve international cooperation in solving diverse international problems. Cardinal among the entrenched mandates for all nations is the maintenance of international peace and security. With all the efforts of the United Nations, tragically, peace and security have remained elusive in our continually restive world.

A world alienated from the life of God is doomed to unceasing pains and pangs of wars, destitution, and poverty. The reality is that it is only in Jesus Christ that humanity’s enigmatic problems can be resolved. This is revealed in our text today. Getting out of a life of alienation from God to true reconciliation with God is an experience far too great and glorious to be ignored. Christ’s sacrificial death at Calvary secures the humanly impossible reconciliation of humanity to God. In Christ, the lawless finds peace and security. He had to give up His life to bridge the gulf between humanity and God. Jesus Christ offered Himself to bring alienated sinners back to their Maker.

Are you seeking true peace and rest from all turmoil? The answer is in Christ. Our acquittal from God’s divine judgement is effected through complete surrender to Him as our Lord and Saviour. You begin to experience ‘the riches of the glory of this mystery…which is Christ in you, the hope of glory,’ the moment you fully yield your spirit, soul, and body to Christ as the Controller of your life. If you are still alienated from God through sinful habits and practices, you should not delay to take this bold step today, and make this vital decision to yield your life totally to the Lord. As we live in a world full of crises, present and eternal peace and rest become your portion.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Divine glory and peace are products of reconciliation through grace.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
