DCLM Higher Everyday 10 October 2022 — Go through stages of growth
DCLM Higher Everyday 10 October 2022 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Go through stages of growth
TOPIC: GO THROUGH STAGES OF GROWTH
BIBLE TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 13:9-12
9For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
MEMORY VERSE: “When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things” (1 CORINTHIANS 13:11).
MESSAGE:
Triumph’s parents gave birth to him after they had prayerfully waited on the Lord for twelve years. This caused desperation in them to see him rise fast, especially academically. Two classes were skipped at the primary school level for him to quickly transit to junior high school. After managing to scale through the junior high, he could not cope with the senior high. He eventually repeated two classes.

Life has stages. God himself created the world in six days, in stages. At the end of each stage, He did a review and pronounced it ‘good’, before going to the next stage. Whether you are a student, farmer, manufacturer or an inventor, there is always something to learn at each stage of our work.
God also expects us to grow spiritually in stages, not remaining baby Christians. We should grow in spiritual experiences: from salvation to sanctification and then to the Spirit’s Baptism. These can be achieved by thirsting, consecrating and praying in faith. Actually, Christian growth is continuous as we study the word of God, pray, fellowship, overcome life’s challenges and serve God.
QUOTE: Life has stages.
CHALLENGE: Move to the next level.
PRAYER: Lord, take me higher than I have been.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
