DCLM Sincere Milk 10 October 2022 — The lord is my Song

DCLM Sincere Milk 10 October 2022 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The lord is my Song

TOPIC: THE LORD IS MY SONG

TEXT: PSALM 118:14-17

14The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.

15The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.

16The right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.

17I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.

Key Verse: “The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation” (Psalm 118:14).

MESSAGE:

People have favorite songs, these are songs you can easily identify an individual with and are always sung by that person in his or her special moments; either to cheer, console or to praise. You can only imagine how many million songs in many tunes that have been sung on earth by people in different languages.

But many of these songs are not meant to praise the Almighty God. The Psalmist is different, he seems to say in our key verse: “the Lord gives me the strength to sing and all my songs show forth His glory and praise.”

Songs are powerful weapons in the hand of God’s people. Moses sang to praise God for His defeat of the army of Pharaoh. Jehoshaphat had victory over the combined armies of the nations through songs of praise to God. Hannah appreciated the blessing of her miracle son through songs. Paul and Silas brought down God’s salvation and deliverance through songs.

Do you sing? Who forms the rhythm of your songs? Let your songs delight the heart of the living God and bring His untold blessings to your body, soul and spirit. Let God be your song. Sing and praise Him now and always, and He will strengthen you in the time of weakness.

In five lines, compose a song of praise unto God. Sing it over and over, and teach others to sing unto the Lord.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
