DCLM Sincere Milk 28 January 2023 — God answers prayer 2

DCLM Sincere Milk  28 January 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — God answers prayer 2

TOPIC: GOD ANSWERS PRAYER 2

TEXT: Matthew 7:7-11

7Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

8For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

9Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

10Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

11If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Memory Verse: “For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” Matthew 7:8

MESSAGE:

Apostle Peter was arrested by the agents of King Herod and kept in the innermost part of the prison. The church then gathered in the house of John-Mark’s mother to pray for Peter. Before they could conclude the prayers, God answered by sending His angel to release Peter from Herod’s prison. The people that were still praying were surprised to see how soon their prayer was answered (Acts 12:3-17). God delights in answering our prayers, but He does not always answer them in the way we think they should be answered.

Sometimes, God says “yes” to us; sometimes He says “no”. At other times He can say “wait.” We can always trust Him to choose the answer that will give Him the most glory and be best for us.

God answers prayers in different ways, but He always answers in a way that shows His power and His goodness. The basic thing is that God answers prayer. Ask what you need from Him. If you are a sinner, ask for the Salvation of your soul now. Thereafter, you can pray for other Christian experiences and the Lord will grant you all the desires of your heart. “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:” 1 John 5:14

Prayer: Lord, hear my prayer always.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
