DCLM Sincere Milk 30 October 2022 — God at work

DCLM Sincere Milk 30 October 2022 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — God at work

TOPIC: GOD AT WORK

TEXT: EXODUS 2:1-8

1And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi.

2And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.

3And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river’s brink.

4And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.

5And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river’s side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.

6And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews’ children.

7Then said his sister to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?

8And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child’s mother.

Key Verse: “And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews’ children” (Exodus 2:6).

MESSAGE:

The story of Moses is a very interesting one. It confirms what the Bible says, that only the counsel of the Lord shall stand. God was at work in the life of Moses from his birth to his death. He was born at the time that Pharaoh the king of Egypt gave a command that all baby boys born to Israelite parents should be killed as soon as they were born.

However, through divine arrangement, Moses, who was an Israelite, ended up being cared for and brought up in the palace of the same Pharaoh. There was no way to keep Moses alive except by God’s intervention. God does everything better than we expect. He directed every action that the mother of Moses took.

Do you think about your future, and fear what may happen to you? As long as you do according to the will of God, He will preserve you through all the danger and wickedness of men. He has great plans for your life.

It is after you have completed His assignment that He will take you to be with Him. Trust in Him. He is at work in your life and will raise up people to help you.

Prayer: My life is in your hand, Oh Lord, deliver me from those who want to destroy me.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
