DCLM Higher Everyday 26 November 2024 — God Can Create a Way
DCLM Higher Everyday 26 November 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — God Can Create a Way
Topic: God Can Create a Way
Text: Isaiah 43:14-21
14Thus saith the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships.
15I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.
16Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;
17Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow.
18Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
19Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
20The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.
21This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.
Key Verse:“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:19).
Message
A song writer wrote that, “God will make a way, where there seems to be no way. He works in ways we cannot see…” No doubt, God is our Way Maker and a perfect Future Planner for His children. In making a way, Christ died and resurrected for our redemption and all-encompassing provision. In today’s world, many youths are faced with a barrage of challenges in their families, academics, career, and relationships. The entire world is experiencing strange happenings that could create fear and panic. In all these challenges, God gives us His assurance that He will make a way for us. However, entitlement to this privilege that has been provided is dependent on our relationship with Him.
Our text instructs us not to bother about our past failure or dwell on our past mistakes. You may be experiencing challenges in your academics or health, but just believe, trust and pray in faith to God today and you will see a clear way in that wilderness situation. Our God makes crooked paths straight.
Quote: God makes crooked paths straight
Challenge: Turn to Jesus, your Way Maker.
Prayer for today: Lord, make a way of progress for me in all areas of my life.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
