Topic: God Cares For His Servant
Text: Jeremiah 39:6-12
7Moreover he put out Zedekiah’s eyes, and bound him with chains, to carry him to Babylon.
8And the Chaldeans burned the king’s house, and the houses of the people, with fire, and brake down the walls of Jerusalem.
9Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive into Babylon the remnant of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to him, with the rest of the people that remained.
10But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poor of the people, which had nothing, in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time.
11Now Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon gave charge concerning Jeremiah to Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, saying,
12Take him, and look well to him, and do him no harm; but do unto him even as he shall say unto thee.
Key Verse: “Take him, and look well to him, and do him no harm; but do unto him even as he shall say unto thee.” Jeremiah 39:12
Message
Jeremiah did his best to warn his people that terrible things would happen unless they changed their ways. They did not listen to him but put him in prison. Just as it was revealed to him by God, the cruel Babylonian army came and destroyed Jerusalem and carried the people as slaves to Babylon.
They killed the king’s sons and all the nobles. They removed the king’s eyes and took him as captive to Babylon. While going through the city, the captain of the Babylonian army found Jeremiah in the prison and brought him before the Babylonian king. He looked at him and surprisingly told his officers to be kind to Jeremiah! God was in charge! He was not going to allow his faithful prophet to be killed. God made sure that Jeremiah survived and was not killed. It is comforting to know as a child of God that He is with you wherever you go. He will lead you and care for you in any situation – just like He did to Jeremiah.

Prayer for today: Lord, I know You love me dearly. Thank You for helping me in my lonely moments. Amen.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
