DCLM Sincere Milk 13 August 2026 — God Is In Charge
Topic: God Is In Charge
Bible Reading: Psalm 35:1-9 (KJV)
1(A Psalm of David.) Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.
2Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help.
3Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.
4Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.
5Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them.
6Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them.
7For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul.
8Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall.
9And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation.
KEY VERSE: “And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation.” Psalm 35:9
Message
Nancy was sent to a supermarket to get some food items for the family. Unknown to her, the shop was under attack by armed robbers. She went in and she was kidnapped! While being abducted, she remembered the Bible verses that grandma had taught her. She rehearsed it aloud to the confusion of her abductors and attracted helpers nearby. God heard her confession of faith and saved her. She was rescued.
In times like these, when the society seems insecure; neither rich or poor is free from the troubles in the world- kidnappers, cyber bullying, famine, climate change, diseases, natural disasters and instability.
Children of God need not fear. God is in charge of all situations. The word of God is not just a shield for all those who believe, it is a formidable weapon that no force can withstand. Read, believe, confess and have faith in God’s Word as you move through the days and months of the year.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lord, let your word dwell in me richly and teach me to know that you are in charge of my life.
FURTHER READING
Ephesians 6:11-18
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
