DCLM Sincere Milk 28 May 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — God Remembers The Humble
Topic: God Remembers The Humble
Text: Psalm 10:12-15
12Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.
13Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it.
14Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.
15Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none.
Key Verse: “Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.” Psalm 10:12
Message
Joseph was a very humble and God-fearing boy. His father loved him because he was hardworking, truthful and obedient. He made a coat of many colours for him. God too loved him and gave him dreams of how great he would be in future, but his brothers hated him. They planned to kill him. They felt they could stop his dreams from coming to pass. How could they, being his elders, bow before him, they hated such idea. Then they sold him, as a slave, to a strange land. His father cried and thought he was dead. They all forgot about him.
He went through shame and prison. Yet wherever he went, people loved him for his humility, hard work and godly lifestyle. At some point, Joseph thought God had forgotten him and his dreams but God cannot forget the humble. God remembered him one day and took the humble boy from prison to the throne. The humble is that child who is like Jesus, who emptied Himself of all His glory and honour and came to the earth to serve as a servant. Truly, the Lord, our God cannot forget the humble. Fear God, be lowly in your heart, reject pride and God will not forget you. He will promote you in due time.

Prayer for today: Lord, bless me with a humble and lowly spirit.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
