DCLM Higher Everyday 29 April 2026 — God’S Surveillance Camera
Topic: God’S Surveillance Camera
Bible Reading: Proverbs 20:24-29 (KJV)
24Man’s goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?
25It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows to make enquiry.
26A wise king scattereth the wicked, and bringeth the wheel over them.
27The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.
28Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy.
29The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the gray head.
MEMORY VERSE: “The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly” (Proverbs 20:27).
Message
The book of Proverbs is full of divine wisdom. Proverbs 20:27 says, “The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts.” God sees and knows everything, just like a surveillance camera. But beyond that, He has given us His Spirit to guide and convict us when we do wrong.
God’s Word is the ultimate guide-book for life, but He has also placed His Spirit within us to help us make wise choices. One of today’s verses warns against making hasty decisions. Many youths are fond of making hasty decisions without consulting God. This often leads them to hurtful end and regrets. As believers, we are called to live a holy and righteous life to please God who has called us. Youths must live with the consciousness of eternity as God’s surveillance camera is constantly viewing their lives. We can also seek wisdom from older, godly men and women who have walked before us for directions. Live with the understanding that God is watching because He is! Let His wisdom guide your steps.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, let Your Spirit guide me as I walk with you.
CHALLENGE
Let His wisdom guide your steps
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
