DCLM Sincere Milk  3 July 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — God’s Word Stands!

Topic: God’s Word Stands!

Text: Psalm 119:88-93

88Quicken me after thy lovingkindness; so shall I keep the testimony of thy mouth.

89LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

90Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.

91They continue this day according to thine ordinances: for all are thy servants.

92Unless thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction.

93I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me.

Key Verse: “Forever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven” Psalm 119:89

Message

Nothing in this world lasts except the word of God. Fashion changes, feelings come and go, taste changes, but the word of God stands forever. God is not a man; His words are true and do not fail like the words and promises of men. Salvation comes by being sorry, turning away from sin and having faith in Jesus and His word. Sinners who repent are forgiven because God’s word says so. Prayers are answered not by how much we cry or shout, but by the faithfulness of God to His word. Do you have a need or desire something? Hold on to the promises of God, stand on those promises and it will surely come to pass.

Don’t just read the word of God, accept it, believe it, and obey it. It does not change, just as God, Who is the Owner of the word. The people in the time of Noah perished because they did not believe God’s word that He was going to destroy the world with water. They disobeyed His instruction to them to come into the ark. Put your faith in the unchanging word of God. Your belief, thoughts and actions should be based on the Bible and not what your friends, television and internet say or do.

Prayer for today: Dear God, I believe Your word does not change. Please, help me to obey and live by it.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
