Text: Psalm 32:7-11
7Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
9Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.
10Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about.
11Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

Message
Children are growing and tender humans who need good counsel to develop into mature adults. However, we have to understand that it is not every counsel from people that is good and profitable. Many times, life is not as simple as we would like it to be. Sooner or later, we come across tough problems that need to be solved. Sometimes the solution is simple; at another time it is not and we are faced with difficult decision. For example, choice of friends, school to attend, career path to follow, and many other life challenging decisions.

Perhaps we may ask for advice, hoping that others can tell us the good and bad points of each choice. Unfortunately, some people’s ideas come from things that have happened in their own lives. They only see the way a plan would work for them and not how it will affect you in the future- or how it will affect others. Though our parents, guardians, godly teachers can give us counsel, it is great to know that we can turn to God for wisdom and guidance. He not only sees into the future, but also leads us in the way that is best for us. He is the greatest Counsellor and His counsels are in His word. Make God’s word your best companion and you will always enjoy good counsels.

Prayer for today: Lord, I depend on You, guide me to walk in Your way.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
