DCLM Higher Everyday 22 October 2022 — His Promise to help
DCLM Higher Everyday 22 October 2022 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — His Promise to help
MESSAGE: HIS PROMISE TO HELP
TEXT: ISAIAH 14:8-14
9Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.
10All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?
11Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.
12How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
MEMORY VERSE: “For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee” (ISAIAH 41:13).
MESSAGE:
Our loving God can help in any area of our lives, hence He told the children of Israel not to fear because of a need or problem. However, God’s children would often wonder if God would keep the promises to help. We may ask, ‘Is God aware of my problem?’ ‘Is God able to solve the problem?’ ‘Is He willing to render the needed help?’

God is committed to the precious and unfailing promises He made to His children. If God promises anything, He will fulfill it unless we fail Him. He did not fail Abraham on child-bearing promise; neither will He fail you.
The greatest barrier between God and man is sin. Many youths struggle with sin and yet expect God to keep His promise to help. If you are a backslider, you must repent and accept Jesus as personal Lord and Saviour. It is only then that the promises of help will be sure.
QUOTE: He did not fail Abraham.
CHALLENGE: Do not struggle, claiming promises, get right with God first.
PRAYER: O Lord, I surrender, help me!
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
