Key Verse: “Therefore the LORD himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel”(Isaiah 7:14).
MESSAGE:
Immanuel is the Name of Jesus which was revealed through prophet Isaiah. It means “God with us.” The revelation of this Name came when the nation of Israel was in distress. The people wondered whether the Messiah they were expecting would still come.

God gave them a prophecy of the coming of Immanuel. The ultimate fulfilment of this prophecy was realized at the birth of Jesus Christ by the virgin Mary. The Name Immanuel, therefore, gives us a new depth of meaning when God’s only begotten Son came into the world.

Jesus as the Almighty God, came down to earth in the form of a baby. The all-knowing God became a child that grew in stature and wisdom. It is the greatest miracle in the Bible.

The Name Immanuel speaks grace and comfort to all those who believe in Jesus Christ. God became a man, not only to save us, but also to understand and sympathize with us. He loves us and understands our weaknesses.
For this reason, we can approach the throne of grace for mercy and receive help in time of need. He is Immanuel, God with us – the God who understands. This truth should draw us nearer to Him in prayer with confidence. Jesus is our Immanuel, who is with us always, even to the end of the world – Amen.
Prayer: Immanuel, abide with me always.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
