BIBLE TEXT: COLOSSIANS 4:15-18
15Salute the brethren which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church which is in his house.
16And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise read the epistle from Laodicea.
17And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.
18The salutation by the hand of me Paul. Remember my bonds. Grace be with you. Amen. (Written from Rome to Colossians by Tychicus and Onesimus.)
MEMORY VERSE: “And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it’’ (Colossians 4:17).
MESSAGE
The desire for excellent performance in examination or skill acquisition demands time and hard work. Lazy and indolent students lack adequate and painstaking preparation while there is yet time. This is the cause of many academic failures and poor performers amongst youths. Aside this, a ministry of soul winning is committed to every Christian youth. Many young people die daily across the world due to sinful habits. Do not neglect to preach and pray for your sinner- peers.
For excellent grades in this session of academics, get started today. Be mindful that continuous assessment tests begin shortly after resumption. Prepare a personal workable time table with all your school subjects included. Ensure that you attend classes regularly and ask questions when necessary. My child, try to write notes on all the subjects, and do your homework. Moreover, set achievable goals and study with concentration every day for reasonable hours. Spend more time on harder subjects. When the examination draws near, intensify efforts on your study, avoiding all distractions. Review past questions. Proper preparation will prevent panic, anxiety and temptation to cheat in your exams.
QUOTE: Attend classes regularly
PRAYER: Lord, give me wisdom to prepare early for my exams.
CHALLENGE: Do you have a workable time table?
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
