DCLM Daily Manna 17 April 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Irreversible Consecration
TOPIC: Irreversible Consecration (DCLM Daily Manna 17 April 2025)
KEY VERSE: “And if it be a beast, whereof men bring an offering unto the LORD, all that any man giveth of such unto the LORD shall be holy” (Leviticus 27:9).
TEXT: Leviticus 27:1-13 (KJV)
1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When a man shall make a singular vow, the persons shall be for the Lord by thy estimation.
3 And thy estimation shall be of the male from twenty years old even unto sixty years old, even thy estimation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary.
4 And if it be a female, then thy estimation shall be thirty shekels.
5 And if it be from five years old even unto twenty years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels.
6 And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy estimation shall be three shekels of silver.
7 And if it be from sixty years old and above; if it be a male, then thy estimation shall be fifteen shekels, and for the female ten shekels.
8 But if he be poorer than thy estimation, then he shall present himself before the priest, and the priest shall value him; according to his ability that vowed shall the priest value him.
9 And if it be a beast, whereof men bring an offering unto the Lord, all that any man giveth of such unto the Lord shall be holy.
10 He shall not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good: and if he shall at all change beast for beast, then it and the exchange thereof shall be holy.
11 And if it be any unclean beast, of which they do not offer a sacrifice unto the Lord, then he shall present the beast before the priest:
12 And the priest shall value it, whether it be good or bad: as thou valuest it, who art the priest, so shall it be.
13 But if he will at all redeem it, then he shall add a fifth part thereof unto thy estimation.
DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:
In our relationship with the Lord, we reach points where our zeal challenges us to go the extra mile to appreciate His immeasurable love. We have such touching stories in the Bible. King David had the opportunity to save a fortune by picking free materials to sacrifice to the Lord. He turned down the offer, saying, he would not give to God what would cost him nothing. Hannah had been desperate to have a child. But when the male child came, she did not hesitate to release him to the Lord as she vowed. Peter and the other apostles left all to follow the Lord.

So it was with the children of Israel in the wilderness as they headed for the Promised Land. Although they complied with the law that demanded their regular tithes and offerings in cash or materials, they still placed themselves under a vow to express their consecration. They gave God their children, fields, cattle, houses, etc. The priests estimated their value to ensure they were fit for sanctuary use.
Our zeal and commitment as New Testament believers must go beyond the superficial routine of church attendance and ministerial functions. We must acknowledge God’s matchless goodness that we count on nothing, including our family, property, time, skills, and money, as He may require them when needed. And we must not attempt to take back what we give Him; He is the Owner of all that is ours. Our commitment and giving of ourselves and substances to God must dwarf the redeemable vows of the Old Testament believers. He left His glory above to pay the supreme price for our redemption, and we should be willing to lay all on the altar for His glory and service.

The churches in Macedonia demonstrated this virtue, “And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God” (2 Corinthians 8:5). Let us give our all to the Lord who first gave His all unto us, and we shall have no cause for regrets here and hereafter.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
We must go from just giving, to giving our best…to giving our all to the Lord.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
