Text: Psalm 119:25-32
25DALETH. My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word.
26I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me: teach me thy statutes.
27Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.
28My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word.
29Remove from me the way of lying: and grant me thy law graciously.
30I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.
31I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O LORD, put me not to shame.
32I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.

Message
Lying is to make a statement that is not true in order to deceive the hearer. Speaking half-truth by deliberately keeping away important information is also lying. According to the book of Proverbs, one of the things God hates is a lying tongue (Proverbs 6:16-17). A child that tells lie cannot be trusted or relied upon. The word of a liar keeps changing. One thing about lying is that when you tell one lie, you will need another lie to cover it up. The sin of lying whether little or big is a very common one but very deadly too.
Many children are guilty of the sin of lying. But why do children lie? Some children tell lies to: (i) get out of trouble (il) avoid punishment for the wrong they have done. (iii) cover up their failures or protect their friends. (iv) protect their pride. Whatever reason any child has for telling lies, everyone should know that God hates lying and He will punish all liars. The question is this, is it possible to be free from the sin of lying? The answer is YES. A genuine experience of salvation is the sure solution to lying. A truly born-again child cannot be a liar. If you are still lying then you need to be genuinely born-again. When? Now. Surrender your heart to the Lord Jesus Christ today.

Prayer for today: Oh Lord, remove from me the way of lying: and grant me the grace to live a sinless life.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
