DCLM Higher Everyday 14 August 2025 — Labour To Be Honoured
DCLM Higher Everyday 14 August 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Labour To Be Honoured
Topic: Labour To Be Honoured
Text: Hebrews 6:9-15
9But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.
11And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
12That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
13For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,
14Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.
15And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
Key Verse: “That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises” (Hebrews 6:12).

God has a system of rewards for deserving labourers. Jesus Christ, through His teachings and parables, indicated that faithful servants will be compensated both in this life and in the life to come. There are various layers of rewards for hard-working youths who have accepted Christ as Lord and faithfully obey and follow His footsteps. The diligent Christian youths have the privilege of God’s abiding presence, academic excellence, and grace for all-round victory over satanic forces. There will be compensation and eternal rest in His kingdom for faithful servants who labour for the Kingdom work.
Quote: There are various layers of rewards.
Challenge: God has a system of rewards
Prayer for today: Lord, help me to labour faithfully till the end.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
