DCLM Sincere Milk 28 September 2023 — Let Jesus Increase Through You
DCLM Sincere Milk 28 September 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Let Jesus Increase Through You
Topic: Let Jesus Increase Through You
Text: John 3: 30- 33
Key Verse: “He must increase, but I must decrease.” John 3:30
Message
John the Baptist was the prophet chosen by God to prepare the way for the Saviour. He was born six months before Jesus was born in Bethlehem. At the appointed time, he started the work that God has called him to do. He did not at any time forget the fact that he was “… the voice of one crying in the wilderness, saying Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.” (Matthew 3:3) He was a faithful and humble servant of God. Although John the Baptist came before Jesus to prepare the way for Him, he did not equate himself with Jesus. He recognized Jesus as the One sent by God to die for the sin of the whole world. John was satisfied with what God sent Him to do in this world and was never competing with Jesus.
As a Christian, you must allow Jesus Christ to be magnified in all that you do. A life that does not magnify Jesus is a wasted life. Humility will help you to live a life that attracts more grace and blessings of God. Use your talents and abilities to magnify Jesus Christ and let Him be seen and glorified in your words, action and all that you do.

Prayer for today: Lord Jesus, please help me to live a life that glorifies You.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
