DCLM Sincere Milk 2 May 2026 — Let The Redeemed Sing For Joy

DCLM Sincere Milk  2 May 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Let The Redeemed Sing For Joy

Topic: Let The Redeemed Sing For Joy

Bible Reading: Psalm 71:22-24 (KJV)

22I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.

23My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.

24My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt.

MEMORY VERSE: My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.” Psalm 71:23

Message

We are redeemed (saved from the bondage of sin) for a purpose. And every redeemed soul that does not fulfil that purpose falls short of God’s expectation and cannot please the Redeemer. The price of our redemption is so high. It costs God the life of His only begotten Son. We must appreciate that love of God. We are redeemed to praise the Lord: to rejoice and sing unto Him and talk of and live in His righteousness all day long. Our tongues have a great role to play in expressing the purpose of our redemption.

Praises come in different forms. Even the moving of our bodies can speak of God’s praise. A deaf and dumb boy received a beautiful gift from a visitor. He was so happy that he looked long into the eyes of the visitor nodding his head, peering from time to time at the gift and waving his hand to the visitor. He quickly stood up, raised the gift up and with a smile looked up to heaven and waved his right hand many times while dancing. He was praising God for such a great favour.

You too must praise God. As a redeemed soul, let your lips be busy praying, singing, thanking, rejoicing and talking to others about the wonders of your salvation. Rejoice in the Lord when you are alone, during your family devotion, in school and in Church fellowship. Ask Jesus to bless you with a grateful heart, a singing lip and clapping hands that rejoice before God always.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Oh, my soul, greatly rejoice in the Lord who has saved you from sin and hell.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
