TOPIC: LIVE A FAITH-BASED LIFE

BIBLE TEXT: ROMANS 4:13-18

13For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

14For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:

15Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.

16Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,

17(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

18Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.

MEMORY VERSE “As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were” (Romans 4:17).

MESSAGE:

The faith-based life believes God without questioning. That was the kind of faith of Abraham when he got a call from God to go to a strange land. That was equally the kind of faith that took Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego to the burning fiery furnace. God did not disappoint any of them. You can judge the faith of an individual by what he does at the time of his greatest need, when he must either run, surrender or fight says W. lement Stone.

The faith-based life affects all aspects of our lives, be it health, finance, education, career or the way and extent to which we worship the Almighty God. However, it requires total trust in God and confiding in His Word Hebrews 11:6 puts it succinctiy that, But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he a rewarder of them that diigently seek him” What a privilege to live by faith!

CHALLENGE: None can please God without faith.

QUOTE: It frees us from worry

PRAYER: Dear Father, help me to live daily by faith, in Jesus’ name.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
