Topic: Miracles Through Prayers

Text: 1Chronicles 4:9-10

9And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.

10And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

Key Verse: “… And God granted him that which he requested.” 1 Chronicles 4:10c

Message

Miracles come through prayers! God desires that His children will diligently seek Him, speak with Him and search His word to get His promises fulfilled in their lives. A lot of opportunities are lost, fortunes are buried, and many doors to greatness remained closed because friends of Jesus refused to pray and get their needs met.

The case of Jabez in our Bible passage is that of a praying Christian who never gave up until his desires were granted. Jabez was born with hopelessness and sorrow. His case was so bad that he was named sorrow. After realizing that he belongs to a God with whom all things are possible; he got up from the dust and decided to seek for help from God. Have you examined your present situation? Are you where God destined you to be? Are you the best that you can be? If you discover any gap; don’t hesitate any longer, rise up and talk to God through your prayers. God answers prayers and He will turn your situation around as He did for Jabez. Prayer changes things!

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
