Topic: My God-Given Ability

Text:  Philippians 4:12-14

12I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

13I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

14Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction.

Key Verse: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13).

Message

God in His infinite wisdom has given every man abilities that will make him function according to His plan and purpose. We are all unique, having special skills and abilities, whether to write, sing, create, talk, or lead. In every individual lies great but may be untapped abilities which he or she will need to discover, develop and deploy for specific purposes in life to the glory of God. The discovery and use of every gift or ability helps one to live a fulfilled life.

Friend, have you discovered your gifts? A writer named Leo Buscaglia said, “Your talent is God’s gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God.” One of the greatest honours you can give to God is to use the ability He has given to you to bring joy to His heart and be a blessing to humanity. Pray and look inward to discover your abilities; rise and roar like a mighty lion as the world is waiting to hear you. You will manifest His glory when you discover and use your gifts.

Quote: Discover and use your gifts

Challenge: Your talent is God’s gift to you.

Prayer for today: My God, open my eyes to discover my abilities in Jesus’ name.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
