TOPIC: OPEN DOOR

TEXT: REVELATION 3:7-10

7And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;

8I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

9Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

10Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

MEMORY VERSE: “I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name” (REVELATION 3:8).

MESSAGE:

An open door refers to opportunities, privileges and chances made available by divine providence. It refers to unhindered access to something or a place. You do not need to look too far or think too deeply to realise them. John L. Mason said, “There are opportunities lying dormant everywhere waiting for the observant eye to discover.”

Have you been struggling for admission into an institution of higher learning without success? Has failure in one or two subjects closed against you the door of education? How about your hidden passion to preach the gospel to other youths? Jesus declared “…I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it…”

You may be searching for an open door of salvation from sin, deliverance from demonic forces, and success in all that you lay your hand upon to do. Jesus is waiting to help you if you come to Him. Anywhere, everywhere and anytime you can live righteously and bring others to Christ. The door to the riches in the kingdom of God is open.

QUOTE: Jesus is waiting to help you.

CHALLENGE: Enter into God’s storehouse and take your possessions.

PRAYER: Father, thank You for the open door, in Jesus’ name.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
