DCLM Sincere Milk 29 January 2023 — Patience
DCLM Sincere Milk 29 January 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Patience
TOPIC: PATIENCE
TEXT: HEBREWS 10:36-39
37For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
38Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
39But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
MEMORY VERSE: “For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.” (HEBREWS 10:36)
MESSAGE:
Patience is an important virtue in life that all friends of Jesus must have. According to an English Dictionary, Patience is defined as the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, problems or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious.
Praise was in the Junior High School in town. One day, their teacher came to school with some gift items. Immediately other students sighted what he brought they started shouting and pushing one another in order to get the items he brought.
Some of them sustained injuries. It was interesting that Praise never joined them and the teacher noticed this; he reserved one of the gifts and gave it to him, just because he was patient. You need to exercise patience with God whenever you ask for anything in prayer. Believe His promises and He will surely bring the answer your way.

Patience is also required in school, home and in the church of God.
There are great rewards for those who are patient. They include: recognition by God; mercy from the Lord and living with the Lord forever. However, a sinner does not have the trait of patience. You can come to God, He will save and give you power to become a patient child.

PRAYER FOR TODAY: Heavenly Father, grant me the virtue of patience.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
