DCLM Sincere Milk 22 January 2022 — Power Belongs to God

DCLM Sincere Milk 21 January 2022 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Power Belongs to God

TOPIC: POWER BELONGS TO GOD

TEXT: PSALM 62:7-12

7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

9 Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.

10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.

12 Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.

Key Verse: “God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God” (Psalm 62:11).

MESSAGE:

Many people may be tempted to forget that God can do all things. The reason may be because of what they go through from day to day and the worries that grip their hearts. Sometimes they try to solve their problems or challenges by themselves. They will always try with their small human strength to fight battles that they cannot win but which will only lead to more worry and frustration. Whatever you are worried about today – is it academic failure, poverty in the family, fear of tomorrow? Remember that you have a heavenly Father who loves you and has all the power in the world in His very hands.

No matter how big the trouble may be or how long it has stayed, God is right beside you waiting for the perfect moment to display His Almighty power. All God wants is for you to trust Him. The Psalmist declared, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea” (Psalm 46:1-2). God has power to take us through the troubles and difficulties of life unhurt. Look unto God for help and deliverance in troublous times and He will not fail you. How comforting to know that you have a heavenly Father who has all the power in theworld in His hands.

Prayer: Lord, help me to always trust in You and Your infinite power.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
