DCLM Higher Everyday 19 September 2023 — Power Of Prayer Of Faith
DCLM Higher Everyday 19 September 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Power Of Prayer Of Faith
Topic: Power Of Prayer Of Faith
Text: James 5:15-18
16Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
17Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
18And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
Key Verse: “And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him” (James 5: 15).
Message
There is no problem that cannot be solved by prayer of faith coupled with God’s kind of righteousness. Hence Gordon Lindsay said, “Prayer is an essential part of our day to day life. When we learn the secret of praying, our whole life will become a succession of miracles.” Through prayer of faith, we can overcome temptations, sickness, satanic oppression, and various challenges. Ministers of God such as Smith Wigglesworth, Charles G. Finney, and T. L. Osborn, operated in the realm of faith and their prayers were effective, bringing salvation and healing to multitudes.
Beloved, you also possess faith, if you are born again. However, you need to feed and exercise it. You feed your faith to grow by studying and hearing the Word of God. You will then experience the power of prayer of faith in your actions. However, remember that faith without works is dead. So, in your studies, do not be lazy but work diligently. On health matters, ensure you abide by the principles of healthy eating and environmental hygiene. What you cannot do, God will do when you pray.
Quote: Beloved, you also possess faith
Challenge: Prayer of faith moves mountains.
Prayer for today: O Lord, help me to experience the power of the prayer of faith.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
